Keynote 1: Machine-doing Instead of Machine-learning: Value Through Data Products at Scale

Abstract:

Everyone talks about Machine Learning but driving tangible business impact often remains a challenge. Online-Print leader Vista has been on a 3-year journey to become dramatically more data-driven – and by doing so, they created huge customer value and drove profitability by over $100M annually. Former CTO/CDO Sebastian Klapdor will share the learnings and success factors that helped scale ML/AI-based data products incl. moving to the data mesh and working in cross-functional data product teams. To illustrate the learnings, Sebastian presents examples for data products at Vista, e.g., automating performance marketing, boosting conversion through personalization, dynamic pricing, and driving productivity in customer service and manufacturing through better customer insights, streamlined processes and improved forecasting.
